The Bicol Region, is located at the Southeastern stretch of Luzon, the largest island and
one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines because
It has a lot of beautiful scenic view to offer to visitors and tourist.
Bicol has always been a popular destination for both local and international travelers, as it is home to one of the most beautiful works of Mother Nature.
It has been my favorite region in Luzon, they have everything that I crave for in such a place.
The landscapes, the view, the rock formations, the waves, those surfing spots, the locals, the kind-hearted welcome from certain group of people.
When the word Bicol pops up in one’s mind, I am sure that most people will always think of the Mayon Volcano, isn’t it? The Mayon Volcano, located in Legazpi, Albay is the iconic symbol of the region and is recognized worldwide for its perfectly cone-shaped feature and loved by the tourists.

1. MAYON VOLCANO

One’s visit to the Bicolandia is not complete without catching a captivating view of Mayon Volcano, It is the world’s famous mountain in which has a perfectly shaped cone.

The name was derived from the Bikol word “Magayon,” which literally means beautiful and what beauty of Mayon Volcano really is!
The peak, likened to the legendary beauty Daragang Magayon, is often concealed by clouds urging first-time visitors to stay longer to admire her charm.

The Mayon Volcano is the most active volcano in the Philippines and one of the most active in the world.
But there’s totally nothing to be scared or worried about.

2. CAGSAWA RUIN

When in Bicol One of the best spots to view awesome Mayon Volcano that you should not miss to visit is the Cagsawa Ruins , so called because this is where the original church of the town of Daraga was situated
The bell tower miraculously survived and over time, it has developed into a top destination for tourists and locals alike for the beautiful view of the Mayon Volcano in the background.
All that remains of the original church is its bell tower, which features in many of the photographs that tourists take of Mayon Volcano from that spot.

Be sure to arrive early in the morning at Cagsawa Ruins, if you want to view Mayon Volcano uncovered. Because by noontime and most of the day, Mayon will be hiding behind a veil of clouds.

3. PURARAN BEACH


This is the most famous beach in Catanduanes and listed as one of the top surfing locations in the world.
some refer to the Puraran surfing wave as Majestics.
Like most beaches in the province, it hasn’t been developed so it’s basically small makeshift huts, sand, and amazing waves.
The surfing area boasts of a magnificent view of mountains and coves.
Photo enthusiasts could get a perfect view of the sunrise in this area.
For holiday seekers, this is a place for total relaxation, communing with nature, and simply, rejuvenation and serenity.
This new spot for surfers and surfer wannabes, it has become popular amongst the foreign and local surfers
Compared to the famous surfing spots in Baler, La Union, Zambales and Siargao, Puraran is one of the less crowded places that you should include in your to-visit list.

stunning landscape of cream/ golden sand beach, clean & clear water marvelous rock formation and views of mountain.

4. BINURONG POINT

The Binurong Point one of the hidden gems of Catanduanes and one of Philippine’s natural beauties, these fantastic sceneries are one of Catanduanes newest attractions.
This landmark is a true nature’s masterpiece and worth visiting. Take away some of the points and set expectations from this article and you’ll be prepared to have a beautiful morning and this gorgeous landscape that is unlike anything else here in the Philippines.

Binurong point really has its own beauty and charm
The panoramic view of the place is really beautiful and you will feel relaxed due to the cool breeze of the air. .

I would recommend this place for nature and adventure lovers. If you want to see the beautiful sunrise, I recommend you to start early in the morning. Although, it is also good to visit Binurong late afternoon so that you will not feel the heat of the scorching sun.
I also recommend you to wear comfortable clothes and footwear. This takes about 30 to 40 minutes of struggle, but the view on the top as soon as dawn breaks is worth every drop of sweat. If you are an adventurous type of person, you will enjoy this trek because you will experience different kinds of path. Some parts are rocky and grassy. Usually when I visit a destination once, I have no real urge to return, but Binurong Point is the kind of place I really wouldn’t mind going back to again and staying longer.

5. HOYOP HOYOPAN CAVE

Hoyop-Hoyopan cave is one of Albay’s famous attractions because of its historic legacy. cave was called Hoyop-hoyopan, a Bicolano term for “blow of the wind.” This huge and windy cave is filled with various shapes of rock formations, where you can use your imagination to formulate different figures inside the cave. The caves are mostly made up of natural limestone and because of its natural ventilation, the Hoyop-hoyopan Cave is an ideal summer spot for adventure lovers and tourists coming to this part of Bicolandia. The cave has stood strong amidst all calamities that hit the town, making people consider it as a safe spot and using it as a make-shift evacuation center for the townspeople. Before that, it has become a refugee camp by Filipinos during the Japanese occupation in World War II as it was used as a hospital and orphanage at that time.

What’s inside the Hoyop-hoyopan cave?Going inside, the place can be wet because of the stalactite and stalagmite that emit water in the cave. It’s better to wear comfortable shoes and clothes as the cave may need you to crawl or squeeze yourself inside to see more of what the cave offers. Included in the entrance fee that you will have to pay for is a tour guide, who will be there to share funny anecdotes about the cave and valuable information. The whole cave experience will only take about 15 to 30 minutes to see the first phase of the whole Hoyop-Hoyopan cave.
